"Reading the book "The Help" transported me back to growing up in Virgnia during segregation and realizing that my parents, grandparents and ancestors worked hard to bring change to our nation. Today, I know that many relatives held jobs in others' homes and did this because they needed a job. I will never know if the worlds of these women developed into any thing more than a work relationship. However, I continue to be hopeful that what we have learned is that we are interconnected."
